The transformational breathwork style I teach (circular connected breathing) is a trauma-responsive approach to conscious breathing (in and out of the mouth) with gentle touch, a motivating playlist, and an immersive sound bath with crystal bowls. Connected Breathing allows people to (re)connect with their highest selves and unlock the potential for better physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. Connected Breathing is also a powerful, self-healing technique that facilitates integration and the transformation of trauma, suppressed thoughts, beliefs, and unprocessed emotions. Breathwork is WORK, so it will be challenging in the beginning of your practice. The invitation is to push through Ego and these uncomfortable experiences by keeping your attention anchored in your body as an act of self-compassion.
Sound healing is a holistic wellness modality that involves the therapeutic use of sound vibrations to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It is based on the ancient practices that different frequencies and vibrations produced by instruments have a profound impact on the body and mind. Sound healing operates through the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, which is the reverse of the stress-induced fight-or-flight response. This practice gently slows your respiration, heart rate, and even brainwave activity, ushering you into an almost mesmerizing state. This signal to your body signifies safety, enabling a profound sense of relaxation
You will listen to gentle sounding bowls including 432 hz quartz crystal singing bowls, wind gong, koshi chimes, ocean drums, as well as other types of instruments that will calm your mind and create soul-stirring sounds to guide you into a relaxed state. As your attention moves inward, the mind begins to recede from thought into present-moment awareness.
Sound healing is a gentle, non invasive, deeply therapeutic healing modality. During a sound bath you can simply relax, rejuvenate, or go to very deep places of meditation and insight. The frequencies, overtones of these bowls take you to a place of beauty, love and peace. Through receiving sound you awaken your body’s innate healing abilities and you are able to de-stress your nervous system, realign on a deep, cellular level.
The many benefits of sound baths and healing sound sessions are: Reduced depression and anxiety, improved sleep, boosting immune system, increased creativity, improved brain function, and regulated nervous system.
Breathwork and sound healing combined is a transformational healing tool that heals wounds at a cellular level and connects you to your internal space. The breath does the work of shifting any stagnant or blocked energy around the chakras that keeps you feeling low in energy, anxious, depressed, and stuck in life. Leaving breathwork sessions you feel lighter, softer and renewed. You may even experience a feeling of being “high” on energy, love and light.
Through guided breathing techniques and immersing yourself in beautiful high frequency sounds, your body will naturally begin to process, unravel and release what’s no longer serving you. One breath at a time, you’ll connect to new levels of clarity and receive your own answers and guidance from within.
This experience is for anyone that is ready to gain awareness, transform and journey into healing. The main purpose of breathwork and sound therapy is to open the heart and enhance peace within. It is a safe, natural way to journey deeply into yourself and find understanding.
Breathwork and sound healing is not advised for persons with severe mental illness or seizure disorders or for persons using major medications. It is also unsuitable for anyone with a personal or family history of aneurysms. Pregnant women are advised against practicing breathwork without first consulting and getting approval from their primary care physician. Persons with asthma should bring their inhaler and consult with their primary care physician and the breathwork class facilitator. Participants need to consult with their physician and get approval to attend healing sessions if they have metal in their bodies, suffered concussions, have a pacemaker, and use an insulin pump.
